For many young adults, entering the professional world can be a daunting experience, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds who may lack the network or guidance to take that first crucial step.
Making the Leap steps in to change this narrative. They focus on helping young adults (aged 18-30) develop their future careers by:
- Building confidence: Empowering individuals to believe in their own potential and value.
- Developing essential skills: Providing the practical tools needed to navigate the modern workplace.
- Creating opportunities: Opening doors to networks and career paths they might not otherwise have access to.
How do they achieve this? By providing hands-on, practical programmes designed to help young adults put their best foot forward. Crucially, these initiatives do more than just inspire—they directly increase a young person’s chances of gaining meaningful employment.
A Record of Tangible Impact
The results of this grassroots approach speak for themselves. Since 2020, an impressive 78% of graduates from Making the Leap’s programmes have achieved an employment, education, or training outcome within just six months.
Today, many of the young adults we have supported through this initiative are not just working, but truly thriving at some of the country’s top companies. They are proving that when young people are given the right mentorship and a fair chance, they will excel.
